Planning sought for developments

Three large scale planning applications have been lodged with Roscommon County Council.

In Ballaghaderreen, Aurivo Dairy Ingredients Ltd has sought permission for the construction of an extension to the existing spray dryer facility to contain a new replacement spray dryer plant.

The application also includes alterations to the existing carpark to accommodate the new extension together with associated local underground drainage and miscellaneous site works at the existing Aurivo Dairy Ingredients Facility.

Meanwhile at Strokestown Park House, the Irish Heritage Trust wish to develop an extensions and upgrade works to the existing visitor centre (including extension of the café area and the
creation of an outdoor terrace, and the development of a new visitor centre within the exiting courtyard). Extensions and upgrade works to the stable building (including a new lobby, upgrading of toilet facilities and the conversion of the existing ground floor stables into an event space). Upgrade works to the existing car park (including resurfacing, drainage works and landscaping).

Finally in Culleenatreen or Flagford, Kinbrace Ltd are seeking permission for a battery energy storage facility which will comprise of rechargeable battery units contained within up to 31 No. 40 foot containers on site.

It also includes an associated development of unit substations, a 110KV substation, security fencing, security cameras, lightning mast, new site roads and new vehicular access.

The facility will connect into the adjoining Flagford ESB Substation via underground cable.
