..and then the snow came

There were shrieks of delight from the children and shrieks of fear from the commuters as people around Boyle and the midlands woke Thursday morning to a blanket of snow.

The main roads that cross Boyle, theN4 and N61 were treacherous early on once snow and then slush accumulated.

With snow still falling at 10.30 a.m., Met Eireann said it would disappear by late afternoon but temperatures will remain in low single digit figures.
