Boyle club’s motion gains momentum

Boyle GAA club’s motion “That Cumann Luth Chleas Gael do not renew nor enter contracts with television companies that require pay per view, for coverage of our national games after the current contract expires” has gained the support of neighbouring Leitrim.

Roscommon club delegates voted at convention before Christmas in favour of backing the Boyle motion.

It has transpired that at the recent Leitrim Co Board convention, a motion from the Kiltoghert club that “The GAA will not allow continued exclusive TV coverage for any games to any subscription channel after the current contract expires. In future, all proposed GAA match TV coverage will be made available via free to air” was passed.

Boyle delegate Mary Clifford spoke on the motion at Convention saying “The purpose of the motion is to ensure that television coverage of our games is available free to air to everyone who has access to a television.”
