Boyle GAA club weekly news

Kieran Cox and Zoe Clarke McClure were €20 winners at the most recent Club Lotto draw which was held in An Craobhin Bar. The jackpot wasn’t won. The house prize was won by Dominic Slein. It will be at €1,900 for the next draw on Saturday May 20th which will be held in the Clarke’s Bar, with Team Three in charge.

The McGovern Directional Drilling sponsored Senior team were defeated in their second game of the senior champioship, they went down to Roscommon Gaels in Ballyleague last Friday (See match report). Their next game is against Castlerea in the O’Gara Cup on Sunday May 21st in Castlerea at 2pm.

The Cooney Motors/Centra sponsored junior team play St. Michael’s in the Division 5 league on Friday evening in the Abbey Park at 8pm.

The History Committee, under the stewardship of Tony Conboy , is undertaking the very worthwhile project of  having photographs  documenting our Clubs history framed.    It is envisaged that the initial phase will see  the exhibition of ten frames in our Clubrooms. The Club invites offers of sponsorship of individual frames Sponsorship will be acknowledged under each frame   Many thanks to the seven individuals who have come on board to date on the project.  Further information can be obtained from Tony at 086 8163399.

Sincere sympathies to the Comiskey family, Roscommon and Roch Hanmore, Senior Men’s Captain on the untimely passing of his cousin, Mary. May her gentle soul rest in peace.

MINOR CLUB:

Results: Division 1 U-12 league Boyle were defeated by Clann na nGael, Division 1 league U-14 Boyle defeated Padraig Pearses.

In the U-12 division 5 league Boyle defeated St. Brigid’s.

Fixtures:
Division 1 U-14 league Boyle play play St Brigids, Tuesday May 16th, in the Abbey Park at 7:30pm. The U-12 Division 5 team play Clan na nGael, Thursday May 18th, in the Abbey Park at 7pm.

LADIES FOOTBALL:

Green Vetinary Intermediate Ladies lost to St Faithleachs in the League.

U14s lost to Clann na nGael in the first round of the league. A great effort by all the girls against a very strong Clann na Gael team. The girls are away to Eire Og in round 2 of the league on Wednesday 17th.

U12’s are away to Oran in round 3 of the Championship on Sunday 21st May @ 6pm.

Best wishes to all children who are making their First Holy Communion next weekend.
