Boyle Minors started the division 2 league on Sunday when they were hosted by Tulsk, in very difficult and testing windy condition. Boyle playing with the wind in the fist half raced into an 8-point lead. Tulsk then started to register their scores despite playing against the very strong wind. Boyle went in at half time with a 3-point lead but were hoping for a bigger margin at this stage as they played against the wind in the 2nd half. The early stages of the 2nd half the wind advantage didn’t count for much as both teams exchange scores with Boyle still holding the lead by two points. Midway through the 2nd half Tulsk started to make the wind count and a took the lead with some long-range points and 2 goals. Boyle kept themselves in the game and narrowed the lead near the final stages by point. With the last kick of the game Boyle had chance to level the score from a free kick but were unable level it as the wind played its part again with kick drifting wide on the wind. Final score Tulsk 3-9 Boyle 1-14, Tulsk win by point. This was a good performance from a very young minor Boyle side with 7 u16 players starting the games.
