Boyle Musical cast parts announced

Principal parts announced for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Boyle Musical Society is delighted to announce the principal cast parts for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. The show will run from November 23rd to 25th in St. Joseph’s Church, Boyle and the performances will be at 8:30pm nightly.

The lead role of Joseph will be played by Jamie Dockery. Jamie, from Ballaghadereen, has previously played lead roles for BMS in both The Producers and Little Shop of Horrors.

Local man and former Voice of Ireland finalist, Marc Egan will take on the role of the Pharoah, while last year’s leading lady from Hairspray, Sligo native, Karen Gordon will assume the responsibility of the Narrator. BMS are delighted to welcome back Tomás Smyth, who will play the part of Potiphar, while Daniela Beadnall takes on the role of his wife – the imaginatively named Mrs. Potiphar.

Damien Wallace will play the part of Joseph’s father, Jacob and the parts of his eleven sons will be played by Darragh Beirne, Diarmuid Beirne, Ethan O’Flaherty, Conor White, Stephen Tighe, Michael Lohan, Cathal Tivnan, Conor P. White, Gavin Ward, Sean McInerney and Jason Kenny. The brothers’ wives will be played by Micheala Beirne, Alison Carter, Devon Cleary, Cliona Dowd, Colette Noone, Ruth O’Dowd, Anna Robertson and Jenny Wallace. The roles of Potiphar’s servants will be played by Catherine Bolger, Ellie Carter, Eva Hamilton, Fiona Keenan, Rhona McGrath and Niamh Noonan. There are also 54 children and an adult chorus of 7 taking part bringing the total cast number to 92!
Tickets for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat went on sale last week and they can be purchased from the following outlets in Boyle. Taylor’s Jewellers on Bridge St., Mary Magee’s on Main St. and UnabhánTourism in King House.

Tickets are priced at €15 but special concessions of €10 tickets for children, students and senior citizens, will be available for Thursday night’s show. Tickets will also be available at the door, each night.

Because of the change of venue this year, there is no specific seat allocation but a reserved area will be allocated to pre-purchased tickets. The earlier you arrive at the performance, with a pre-purchased ticket, the better your choice of seat in this area.
