‘Celtic just miss out on club award

Local soccer club Boyle Celtic were the recipients of much praise at Friday night’s FAI Club of the Year awards in Kilkenny.

Although unsuccessful this time round, the club delegates are now armed with ideas and further knowledge that could see them as a winner in the year’s ahead.

The ‘Celtic stand created great interest including a number of Boyletoday.com photographs of the past season.

Of particular interest were a pair of 80 year old boots that the club had on display.

Special thanks also to Aidan Ray Menswear who had the six person delegation of Aaron O’Connor, Richard Kennedy, Lochlainn Conboy, Eddie Conroy, Owen O’Donoghue and Sean Kerins looking dapper.

The eight nominees were Boyle Celtic (Roscommon), Carrick United (Tipperary), Cahir Park (Tipperary), Peake Villa (Tipperary), Evergreen (Kilkenny), Manorhamilton Rangers (Leitrim), Portlaoise (Laois), and Carrigaline United (Cork).

Carrigaline were the overall winners.
