The Taoiseach has supposedly drawn up a list of 17 women who he’s fast-tracking as candidates for the next general election.
Included in the list is Ballaghaderreen’s Maura Hopkins who is a county councillor for the Boyle Municipal District
Under new gender quotas, Fine Gael must run at least a dozen extra female candidates when the government go to the country in 2016.
Failure to do so will cost the party up to €2m
