Culture Night happenings in Boyle

Culture Night takes place nationwide tonight Friday September 21st with two events in the Boyle area.

Free Tours of King House:  This magnificently restored Georgian mansion will offer free tours of the house throughout the day and evening (4-8pm). Visitors can enjoy a range of interactive exhibitions featuring life-size figures, special effects and activities as well as explore and experience the exciting Mary McAleese Collection. Booking essential for tours (last tour at 7pm).

Doon Shore, Lough Key: View an “augmented reality” work developed by the Artist Fiona McDonald where you can see via a smart phone app the proposed UFO portal off Church Island discovered by the later Betty Meyler, President of the UFO Society of Ireland. This event takes place between 7.30pm – 9:30pm.

Keadue Hall: A night of traditional music, song, dance & stories for everyone to enjoy brought to the stage by the Ceideadh branch of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann. The village comes alive with traditional music while dancers take to the floor in this special event. Time 8.30 – 11pm.

Now in it’s thirteenth year, Culture Night is a programme of free late-night entertainment, as part of an all-island celebration of arts, heritage and culture.
