€10,000 for Doon Shore Amenity

Doon Shore Amenity in Boyle has been allocated €10,000 under the 2017 Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme.

Senator Frank Feighan has welcomed 118,040 in funding for 15 outdoor recreation projects in Roscommon. The funding was announced by Michael Ring, T.D., Minister for Rural and Community Development today as part of €11m in funding under the 2017 Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme.

“This is fantastic news for the communities involved (See table below) and a great boost for rural areas.

The Scheme is part of the Government’s Action Plan for Rural Development and provides funding for the development of new outdoor recreational infrastructure and the maintenance, enhancement and promotion of existing outdoor recreational infrastructure in Ireland.

“The grants support a mix of smaller local measures with grants of up to €10,000 each and this funding is vital for local tourism which is so important in places like County Roscommon.”
