€22k road upgrade in Corrigeenroe
€22,770 has been allocated for the upgrade of non public roads in the Corrigeenroe area under the 2018 Local Improvement Scheme (LIS).
The repair and upgrade of 360m of road in Corrigeenroe will receive €12,420 while 400m of road in Drumdoe will receive €10,350.
The monies are part of a €370,000 allocation from the Department to Roscommon Co Co for the repairing of 56 roads in the county.
The Scheme provides funding to assist Councils carry out improvement works on private and non-publicly maintained roads.

The allocations have been welcomed by Senator Frank Feighan who said:
“My colleague Minister Michael Ring has confirmed the allocation as part of an additional €10m for the LIS this year. This is on top of the €17m which Minister Ring allocated for the scheme last year.
“The LIS scheme was re-introduced last year after a gap of eight years since the last round of funding, and has made a huge difference to local communities here in the county.
“The roads to be improved have been determined by Roscommon County Council based on the financial allocation by the Department of Rural and Community Development.”
