Gardaí are to maintain a high level presence at the removal and funeral of a man from Athlone, shot dead at a wedding in County Fermanagh.
The removal of Barney McGinley, who is originally from Longford town, is to take place in Athlone Sunday with burial on Monday.
The 63 year old, who is a member of the traveller community, received gun shot wounds along with another man in his 30s, outside the ceremony at St. Mary’s Chapel in Newtownbutler on Wednesday.
The PSNI and Gardaí are investigating, and have confirmed that no arrests have taken place.
