Oldest man dies in Roscommon

The death has taken place of Ireland’s and Roscommon’s oldest man Luke Dolan.

Luke was 108 years old, making him not only Ireland’s oldest man, but also the only Irish man, living on Irish soil, to have reached that age.

He was born in 1906 and lived all his life on the family farm at Clonfree in Strokestown.

He died on Sunday at Cloverhill Nursing Home in Roscommon.

Luke will repose at Mc’Hugh’s Funeral Home, Strokestown tomorrow evening Tuesday from six o’clock, followed by removal at eight o’clock to the Parish church.

Funeral Mass on Wednesday morning at eleven o’clock with burial afterwards in the local cemetery.
