James Kilbane in Ballinameen

James Kilbane will appear in concert in Ballinameen Community Centre on Sunday 13th March.

The event is being organised by the village locals as there is a growing need within the community to take a greater role in fundraising to maintain their local community centre, school fund raising needs at Kingsland N.S.

There is also need to carry out repairs to the Ballinameen church working towards a total new roof as the present one is 113 years old.

All three fundraising needs play a very central part in the everyday life of the local community with all three located just yards from each other.

The community centre is home to all local clubs including the GAA, Ladies Football, Irish Dancing, Community Games as well as locals using it for very important celebrations as First Communions, Confirmations and large community parties and events.

However in current times it is much harder to maintain the centre with rising costs and pressures of rising lighting, heating, insurance, water charges and other general costs to maintain and keep the centre running.

It is a similar story for the national school which needs funds for basic running costs and the church is in need of repair.

The Ballinameen community are looking forward to hosting the Irish, country and gospel concert in their community centre with multi-platinum selling James Kilbane for a wonderful night of Irish and folk favourites from ballad to anthem.

Kilbane will be including many of his popular country songs as well as many Irish and gospel favourites.

The night will prove nostalgic, inspiring and enjoyable.  Kilbane’s home grown and easy style now attracts all ages to his music and from every faith tradition and walk of life touching many hearts at home and abroad.  If you like Irish ballads, Folk and country music then this will be a night not to be missed.
