Major fire in Mullen Frenchpark

Boyle Fire Service attended a large fire at Mullen near Frenchpark on Saturday night/Sunday morning.

The blaze at Pat Lavin Plant Hire is estimated to have caused thousands of euro’s worth of damage to plant and machinery and the premises itself.

Along with Boyle Fire Service, Ballaghaderreen Fire Service fought the blaze for over 8 hours into Sunday morning.

One man was taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation when he tried to rescue some of the machinery.

Gardai are investigating the cause of the blaze but it is not thought to be suspicious.
