Miners Way Sunday Walk

Miners’ Way Sunday

A walk will take place on Sunday 11th of May along a section of The Miners’ Way/Historical Trail from near Annagh Woods to Ballyfarnon. Participants will meet near the old courthouse in the centre of Ballyfarnon at 2.45pm. As this is a linear walk we will be carpooling and bringing a smaller number of cars to where the walk will start at 3.00pm. The walk is almost all off road, is about 9km long and will take about two and a half hours. It is an easy walk… but includes a number of step over stiles. The walk is mostly along the shore of Lough Meelagh and includes sections through Annagh, Knockranny, and Kilronan Woods, where the May flowers are in full bloom. Walking boots are essential and walkers are advised to bring along a snack, drink and a mobile phone. There will be a short stop for a break at Doon Point. All are welcome. No fee. See Miners Way Facebook page and Miners’ Way You Tube films.
