The main N5 Ballaghaderreen to Castlebar road remains closed Sunday morning following a a fatal car crash yesterday.
The single vehicle collision happened on the N5, in the townland of Knockanour, Castlebar at approx. 7.30pm.
The driver, a man in his thirties suffered fatal injuries when his car hit a fence.
He was taken to Mayo General Hospital but died late last night.
The road at the scene is closed to facilitate a technical examination by Garda forensic collision investigators and local diversions are in place.
