Passengers anger at Train cancellation

Angry rail travellers have vented their annoyance at the cancellation of Sunday’s 3pm train from Sligo to Dublin.

The service was scheduled to pick up passengers in Boyle at 3.33pm but never arrived after it was cancelled at short notice.

Many passengers only found out of the cancellation via social media when Irish Rail took to twitter to announce the cancellation.

Those waiting in Boyle, including some who were making their way to Dublin Airport, had to wait until 5.05pm for the next train.

Irish Rail have apologised citing driver illness as the reason for the cancellation.

One irate customer told Boyletoday.com “It was bad enough to have to wait ninety minutes for another train but announcing it’s cancellation on twitter which many people do not subscribe to was most annoying.”
