Tractor crash results in rail delay

Rail users on the Dublin Sligo line faced delays yesterday (Thursday) evening following a tractor crashing through a level crossing in Co. Kildare.

Irish Rail took to Twitter to advise of “Major Disruption on the Dublin – Sligo line due to tractor destroying Barberstown Level crossing” shortly after 5.30pm.

The 5.05pm train, which had left Connolly, had to return to the station but later departed.

It was believed that there would be “Massive Knock On Delays” but following assessment the delays reduced to one hour and then reduced to thirty minutes.
