Carrick on Shannon Gardai are investigating two serious incidents.
The first involved an alleged serious assault on a young girl at a teenage disco recently in the town.
Gardai are understood to have commenced an full investigation into the allegations and ask anyone who was at a teenage disco in Carrick on July 28th and who may be able to assist their investigations to contact them at 071 96 50517.
Seperatley, Gardai are also investigation a serious assault in the town in the early hours of Sunday morning at Park Lane.
Two men who were visiting the town received injuries when they were allegedly “struck with an improvised weapon” at approximately 3am.
One was brought to Sligo University Hospital with facial injuries while the second man was brought to Mullingar General Hospital with serious hand injuries.
Gardai are understood to be following a definite line of enquiry in relation to this incident.
