Man in court following Boyle incident

A 54 year old Slovak grandad to be, who was in Boyle because his daughter was due to give birth, appeared recently before Sligo court.

The man had only been a number of hours in Boyle when he was arrested.

He pleaded guilty in court to breaking a glass pane in a front door at Abbey Crest, Knocknashee, Boyle on Wednesday May 13th.

Inspector Paul Kilcoyne said the man “ran into a house for safety and broke a pain of glass. He was eventually let out of the house by the owner. He was quiet drunk”.

Speaking through an interpreter, the man apologised and said he was “hallucinating that someone was after him”.

Asked by the Judge Kilrane if he had taken any other substance other than alcohol, he replied he had not.

The man was given the benefit of the probation act.
