The 17 year old boy who drowned on Tuesday evening will swimming at Tarmonbarry has been named as Damola Adetosoye from Newtownforbes.
It is understood Damola was swimming with friends in Tarmonbarry Marina when he got into difficulties at approximately 4.45pm.
Despite the efforts of his friends and a number of boat owners in the Marina, the body of the young man was taken from the Marina a short time later
There were emotional scenes as his body was taken from the Marina by emergency services before being brought to Roscommon University Hospital.
