Traffic advice ahead of cycling classic

The Lough Key Classic cycling sportive will take place in Boyle this Sunday when over 200 cyclists will descend on the town.

The event HQ is the Sports Complex.

With three distances involved, start times are staggered to 9am and 10am when riders will leave the Complex, travel down the Crescent and out St. Patrick Street.

As the start is neutralised, Gardai will accompany the riders as they leave Boyle.

Marshals and Gardai will be on duty at key points throughout the event and your co-operation and vigilance would be appreciated.

In particular, Mass going motorists on Sunday are advised to be conscious of a large volume of cyclists on the roads in and around Boyle between 11.3oam and 12.15 pm on Sunday.

The mid cycle food stop is in King House and riders will enter via Main Street and leave via Military Road before heading out Abbeytown around this time.

The event should conclude between 2pm and 3pm.

Safety is paramount for the organisers and your assistance would be appreciated in ensuring the Lough Key Classic is a memorable event for all the right reasons.
