Two men appear in court in Carrick

Two brothers from Dowra in Co Leitrim appeared before a special sitting of Carrick on Shannon District Court on Tuesday evening in relation to an incident near Drumshanbo on Monday.

The 20 and 21 year old are charged with possession of offensive weapons and with assaulting a Garda.

One of the accused is also charged with burglary at the Mill Race licenced premises in Drumshanbo on the 2nd August. This man was denied bail.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at Harristown Court, Castlerea on Friday.

The other man was released on bail.

Another man allegedly involved in Monday’s incident at Mahanagh, Drumshanbo has been identified but remains at large.
