An Opening Ceremony for the World Meeting of Families 2018 will take place simultaneously across all 26 Dioceses of Ireland on the evening of Tuesday 21 August.
Celebrations in the Diocese of Elphin this evening include:
Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Sligo at 7.00pm
Bishop Kevin welcomes Bishop Ferran Glenfield, Bishop of Kilmore, Elphin and Ardagh, who will preach the homily. Music by Sligo Cathedral Choir, under the direction of Charles O’Connor.
Church of the Sacred Heart, Roscommon at 10.00am (Mass)
Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception at 7.00pm
Church of Our Lady of Lourdes, Derrane at 7.00pm
SS Peter and Paul’s Church, Athlone at 7.00pm
Church of the Risen Christ, Kiltoom at 7.00pm
