3000 premises in Boyle without power this morning

Nearly 3000 premises in the Boyle town area still without power this morning (Monday) following Storm Isha.

A restoration time of 20.00 Monday evening is being advised by ESB Networks but power could be restored before that.

Over 200,000 people are without power across the island of Ireland this morning.

Roscommon was among the worst areas impacted by the storm according to ESB Networks with gusts of 120kph recorded on Sunday evening.

Despite the strong winds, there does not appear to be any major structural damage in Boyle this morning but motorists are advised to proceed with caution due to debris and fallen branches on roads.

A Status Yellow wind warning remains in place for counties Sligo  and Leitrim along with Mayo, Galway Clare and Donegal until 7pm this evening, with a nationwide Status Yellow warning coming into effect for Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

At the height of the storm, Roscommon Co Co advised that trees were blocking roads at Ardcarne on the west bound lane, Keadue to Ballyfarnon Road, Ballymote to Boyle road, Felton Road to Killaraght, Brishlagh, Croghan to Cortober, Drum Road at Woodenbridge and the Garrow road blocked by an Eircom pole.
