87 new cases of Covid-19 in County Roscommon

Covid-19 figures are on the increase once again in County Roscommon.

The latest available figures for the county, up to June 27th, show 87 new cases in Roscommon and a 14 day incidence rate of 134.8

There is no breakdown available of each electoral area as before.

The county’s 14 day incidence rate is now the fourth highest in the country behind Donegal, Limerick and Waterford.

The lowest incidence rate in the country is still Mayo at 29.1

In neighbouring counties, the 14 day incidence rate in Sligo is 131.2 with 86 confirmed cases and 46.8 in Leitrim with 15 confirmed cases.

Meanwhile, the Government has announced the following changes from July 5th:

Outdoor events: As planned, numbers for organised events can increase to 200 or 500 for stadia or venues with a capacity of over 5,000

Indoor activities, such as organised events, return of service in bars and restaurants, training, group exercise, dance:
Will not proceed as planned, pending the implementation of a system to verify vaccination or immunity. Gov will devise an implementation plan by July 19th

Weddings: As an exception, weddings already planned will be permitted to proceed on the basis of the expected changes, with 50 guests permitted to attend wedding receptions with protective measures

Vaccine and recovery bonus:
No limit on number of people who can visit together if they are all fully protected by vaccination or have recovered from COVID-19 infection in the previous 9 months
