Plans to build new Community Centre in Corrigeenroe

Plans are gaining momentum to build a new Community Centre in Corrigeenroe.
Led by Corrigeenroe Community Centre Development Committee/Aughanagh Parish Council Ltd, the project is currently at the early stages with possible sites being assed to construct such a centre, along with gathering information on what grant funding is possibly to help with its development.
According to the committee: “We have a small but vibrant community of around 450 people made up of families, elderly, children and individuals of all walks of life. We feel as though that we are currently lacking a dedicated space where we can gather, celebrate and learn together. We want to create that space and build a community centre with a welcoming multipurpose space for EVERYONE”!
This Hall will serve as:
– A local events space (Celebrations, Communions/Confirmations, Weddings, Funerals)
– A safe space for youth activities and after school activities
– Physical activities and Yoga exercise classes
– Evening Classes
– Active Age programmes
– Meeting place/tech hub for remote working
“We have a lot of exciting projects lined up including a fundraising raffle with some fantastic prizes including: Pallet of Harvest Flame coal, 55″ Flat Screen TV, Entry to St. Michael’s GAA Lotto, get your room painted for Christmas, Hampers, Shed Distillery tour, Arigna Mining tour, vouchers and more prizes to be announced”
Raffle tickets will be on sale in Boyle on Saturday 18th at Corrib Oil, Saturday 25th Cooney’s Centra and Saturday 8th in Supervalu Shopping Centre. The draw will be conducted live on facebook on Saturday November 15th at 9pm in the Moorings Bar, Knockvicar.
