Another successful Run Walk n Roll held in Boyle

Around 250 people of all ages took part in this years Run Walk n Roll 2023 which was held on Sunday last.

Now in its 28th year, it was great to see young and old racing towards the finish line in good spirits, having good fun, exercise and smiling.

Students from Abbey Primary School who were raising sponsorship were really to the fore.

Boyle Ladies team and management were also there with the Senior County Cup they won on Saturday evening.

First man home was Paul Little in a time of 22mins followed closely by Dylan Mc Carthy and in 3rd place Rian Tonry.

First female home was Carrick on Shannon woman Dymphna Kelly in a time of 24mins followed by local woman Aoife O Connor and a great 3rd place for Emma Mc Gowan.

Tea and light refreshments were provided in the hall afterwards.

The organisers would like to thank each and everyone who took part, stewards, Gardai, Order of Malta, registration and tea ladies, local businesses, Roscommon County Council, local media and the management and staff of Abbey Primary School.

A full list of thank yous and monies will be posted at a later date.

Overall a good day was had by all and hopefully we will be back next year.

You can really say community spirit is alive and well in Boyle.
