‘Before the Sun Sets’ on Lough Key

On the longest day of the year, June 21st, 2019 in Lough Key Forest Park visual artist Yvonne McGuinness, as part of The Park Project commission curated by Linda Shevlin, will be hosting a large-scale, outdoor, participatory performance across the parklands and lake.

Participants who reserve a ticket will engage in five activities lead by guides which will culminate in a campfire gathering at park campsite.

Drawing on the layered histories of the estate and parklands: the Moylurg tower, the basement of the once splendid Nash designed Rockingham House, Castle Island and the park campsite. The 5 activities will incorporate costumes, a sound work, an uprising, an interactive film screening and a boat journey.

Sign in begins at 8pm at park campsite communal building, performance begins at 8.30 sharp till 10pm

*This performance will be filmed throughout and participants agree to being filmed through registration and is suitable for age 8+

This commission is kindly funded by Roscommon & Fingal County Council Arts Office and Roscommon Arts Centre, all of whom are supported by the Arts Council.
