Boil water notice coming to an end

Roscommon/South Leitrim Fine Gael TD Frank Feighan, has been informed by Irish Water that the Boyle Water treatment plant is currently undergoing “process proving” before the Boil Water Notice can be lifted.
“This Boyle Water treatment plant is commissioned and has been supplying compliant water since February 2015. Following the commissioning, a period of 2 months of process proving is required and this period is then followed by the verification of three clear samples by the EPA/HSE which will allow the notice to be lifted.
“Irish Water has informed me that all the necessary information has been sent to the HSE and EPA for review. After this information has been reviewed by the HSE and EPA, a meeting will be called to detail the time frame for the lifting of the Boil Water Notice.
“This new water treatment plant will soon bring to an end the constant boil water notices which have been affecting businesses and consumers over the last number of years.
“This investment will play a significant roll in protecting the health and wellbeing of all inhabitants in the community.”
