Boyletoday.com, the local news and advertising website for the town of Boyle and surrounds, unfortunately did not collect a trophy on Wednesday evening at the All Ireland Web Awards ceremony in Dublin.
The website had reached the last ten in the prestigious 2014 Web Awards in the “Best Daily Web Only Publication” category..
The winner of the category was her.ie, an established national website.
Following the awards ceremony editor and proprietor of Boyletoday.com Brian Nerney said “It was an experience to be among the top websites in Ireland at tonight’s event. We learned a lot and made great contacts to assist us in the next stage of our development. Boyletoday.com is now recognised as one of the top ten daily websites in Ireland and that is some achievement in our first eleven months of operation. It’s onwards and upwards from here” he said.
“While is was disappointing not to get the ultimate accolade, it was great to hear someone in the crowd shout “Up the Rossies” when Boyletoday.com was flashed on screen to the 500 people in the room” concluded Brian
