€173,592 grant aid awarded to four local projects

Local FG TD and Minister of State Frank Feighan has this morning (Monday 15th) welcomed the allocation of €343,458 in Clár funding for projects in Co Roscommon.

Projects funded under the scheme include playgrounds, public lighting, walks, community gardens,
sporting facilities and school safety improvements.

“This is another significant by government in conjunction with local communities, development
companies and the local authority.

“I am delighted to see a significant amount of funding go to a number of projects in North
Roscommon and to my constituency of Sligo/Leitrim/South Donegal and North Roscommon.
Among the successful projects are.

Boyle GAA Club will receive €49,500 to tarmacadam access areas to the club facilities and ground works to
provide safe access for disabled persons.

St Ronan’s Community Hall, Keadue are awarded €48,582 to replace the floor and upgrade the heating system.
Kilmore GAA Club, €40,860 to provide for an Astro Turf surface at their grounds.

Cootehall Community Development Co. receives €34,650 to erect a gazebo covering facility in the Riverside
Park.

“In conclusion I wish to congratulate the community groups for their excellent applications and
indeed to Minister Heather Humphreys for her and her department’s continued support of rural
Ireland, I am particularly delighted to see the North Roscommon area do so well in funding on this
occasion and I am pleased to have lobbied for their applications, stated Minister Feighan.
