€46m spend by visitors in Roscommon

Overseas visitors (54,000) spent €27m in Roscommon last year while domestic visitors (130,000) spent €18m.

The Independent.ie report says the domestic figures are gleaned from CSO data, while overseas figures are calculated from a combination of the CSO’s Tourism & Travel and Household Travel Surveys (HTS); NISRA’s Northern Ireland Passenger Survey (NIPS) and Fáilte Ireland’s own Survey of Overseas Travellers (SOT).

Dublin ranks highest in the domestic spend (€307m) and overseas spend (€1981m).

Longford is the county with the lowest number of either domestic or overseas visitors.
