Events at Knockvicar Organic Garden

A range of training & events are being hosted throughout the year, at the Knockvicar Gardens and at Cleen Hall.

This February: Sun 1st, Vegetarian Sunday Lunch Club 12-2pm at Cleen Hall €10. Sat 7th, Bring & Bake in the clay oven 12-3pm at the Garden, Free event. Tues 10th, Planning Your Orchard 7-9pm at Cleen Hall, €5. Mon 16th, Seasonal School Gardens: Spring 7-9pm at Cleen Hall, €20. Sat 21st, Introduction to Seed Saving 10-3pm at Cleen Hall, €20. This February: Sun 1st, The first of this years bi-monthly Vegetarian Sunday Lunch Club, with an emphasis on local, seasonal and organic produce. This months meal features 2 courses including cheesecake + coffee. Main course is a secret with clues available fri before event. 12-2pm at Cleen Hall €10.
Sat 7th, Bring & Bake. The Gardens’ clay oven is fired up on the first sat of every month. Pizzas take moments to cook in it & taste wonderful, bring dough & toppings to share with friends & strangers while looking around the Gardens. 12-3pm at the Garden, Free event.
Tues 10th, Planning Your Orchard, the 2nd in our great value  Organic gardening series, explaining recommended locations, preparations, spacing, varieties and complimenting shrubs & plants for planning your orchard.  7-9pm at Cleen Hall, just €5.
Sat 14th, Orchard Pruning. The third in our Organic gardening series demonstrates essential pruning techniques for maintaining fruit trees. You’ll witness the methods for selecting & shaping your trees for long term health & fruit yield and have the chance to practice the cuts yourself in our orchard. 9am-12 at Knockvicar Gardens, €5
Mon 16th, Seasonal School Gardens: Spring. Particularly for teachers and assistants, but open to all, the 4 seasonal sessions help you prepare your school garden for the coming season with tips for what to plant when, where, how and why, by our school garden facilitator. 7-9 pm at Cleen Hall, €20.
Sat 21st, Introduction to Seed Saving. The first of three Seed Saving classes, introducing the reasons, needs and benefits of saving our own seeds as well as detailing simple steps to avoid mistakes and start saving your own vegetable seeds. 10am-3pm at Cleen Hall, €20.
Sun 22nd, Seed Swap Sunday. Our 7th annual seed swapping event with both bought and saved quality seeds. Offering seed saving tips & featuring 2 films about seed saving around the world. 12-4pm at Cleen Hall, Free Event.
