Gardai have confirmed to Boyletoday.com that forensic investigators will visit the former Royal Hotel building on Bridge Street in Boyle on Monday morning.
The investigators will try to establish the cause of yesterday evening’s fire at the premises.
Boyle Fire Service responded to an emergency call shortly after 8pm on Sunday evening following reports of smoke coming from the building.
When they entered the vacant premises from the rear, they found a fire on the first floor which they quickly brought under control.
A platform appliance from Carrick on Shannon Fire Station also attended but was not required.
