Highest number of Covid cases locally are in the Boyle L.E.A.

Th Covid-19 14 day incidence rate in the Boyle Local Electoral Area (L.E.A.) is now the highest in the county at 142 per 1000 people.

(The 14 day rate for the Republic of Ireland is 148).

Figures released last night for the 14 days from March 2nd to March 15th also show there has been 31 confirmed cases in the Boyle L.E.A. during the past fortnight – also the highest in the county.

Roscommon L.E.A has a 14 day incidence rate of 70.4 with 16 cases, the Athlone L.E.A. has a rate of 80.1 with 16 cases while the Carrick on Shannon L.E.A. has a 14 day rate of 61.6 and 7 cases.

Last night (Thursday) the Health Protection Surveillance Centre (HPSC) has been informed of 10 new cases of Covid-19 in County Roscommon up to midnight March 17th.

The county’s 14 day incidence rate is now 119.3 and the 5 day moving average is 6.
