Late Mons. John J Hanly

The death has taken place of Monsignor John J. Hanly, parish priest of Carnaross and late of Laytown, past Rector of Irish College Rome, and native of Oldcastle, Co. Meath, 20th January 2016, at Our Lady’s Hospital, Navan.

Son of the late Dr. Michael and Beda Hanly, Oldcastle. Predeceased by his sisters, Laurie, Sr. Margaret, Teddie and brother Michael. Deeply regretted by his sisters Freda Kearney, Elizabeth Smith, Pauline Ryan (Abbeytown, Boyle), Geraldine Henry, Olivia Kelly (Carrick Rd., Boyle) and his brother Dr. William Hanly, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, Bishop, priests and Religious Orders of the Diocese of Meath, the past students of the Pontifical Irish College Rome (Oliver Plunkett Union), relatives and wide circle of friends.

Reposing at Gibneys Funeral Home, Oldcastle, Thursday from 4pm to 7pm with removal to St Ciarán’s Church, Carnaross arriving at 7.30pm. Funeral Mass on Friday at 12 noon, with burial immediately afterwards.
