Lough Key Classic “Thank You”

The second annual Curlieu Wheelers organised Lough Key Classic cycling sportive took place in Boyle on Saturday 16th May and such was its success that it is now firmly established on the national cycling calendar.

A large number of cyclists participated in the 120k and 60k events with the weather remaining favourable until the finish.

Participants spoke highly of the route, the friendliness and professionalism of the marshals and the quality of food provided which surpassed any other sportive they participated in.

The event would not have been possible without a real community input which is evident by the following list of “thank you’s” that the Curlieu Wheelers club would like to make public and which appear in no particular order:

Bernard Murray and staff, Boyle Local Area Office, Roscommon Co Co.

Finally, the event would not have run as smoothly as it did without the volunteer marshals, (cycling club members and non-members) who assisted before, during and after the event– your support is very much appreciated and shows how lucky we are in Boyle that the spirit of volunteerism is alive and well in our town.
