Lough Key Forest Park is ‘Best Public Park’ in Ireland

Congratulations to Boyle’s Lough Key Forest Park who won the ‘Best Public Park’ in the Ireland Community and Council Awards’ on Saturday night.

The event, in Croke Park, was attended by staff members from Lough Key Forest Park including manager Louise Fitzpatrick (pictured receiving the award) and members of Roscommon Co Co including local Councillor John Cummins who nominated the Park for the award.

The winners, representing their counties, were announced by RTE’s Marty Morrissey at a gala black tie awards ceremony at Croke Park Stadium.

The news has been welcomed by Deputy Frank Feighan who said: “This award is another great endorsement for Lough Key Forest & Activity Park with its marvellous range of facilities attracting visitors from both at home and abroad.

“I am delighted the Park – our ‘jewel in the crown – has now become one of the best visitor attractions in Ireland.

“I am now looking forward to the development of the new cycle corridor linking the Park to the town of Boyle.

“It will undoubtedly attract more and more visitors into the town and will provide a huge boost not just for the town but for this whole region.”
