Lough Key Forest Park listed in ‘Top 10 Family Cycles’

Boyle’s Lough Key Forest Park was listed among the ‘Top 10 Family Cycles’ recently.

Well known travel writer Pol O’Conghaile writing on independent.ie on Saturday listed the ‘Park in his article:

“Lough Key Forest Park is a fab resource, with activities ranging from Zipit aerial adventure to  a tree canopy walkway, adventure playground and segway tours. The 8km of traffic free bike trails are suitable for families with kids, child seats or tagalongs and bike hire base (electricbiketrails.com) has regular and electric bikes as well as tandems, child seats and even rain ponchos in case of showers. There are no steep hills, a short loop on the lakeshore or a longer one heading into the woods. Watch out for the 250 year old ‘Big Tree’ on the bog trail”.
“Trip Notes: Visitors are limited to within 5km for now, but Lough Key Forest Park looks forward to welcoming us in future. See loughkey.ie or Facecbook.com/loughkeyforestpark”.

Unfortunately, Pol must not have been aware of the soon to be opened Lough Key to Boyle cycleway which will be a great addition to the facility and perhaps make us the number one family cycle in Ireland.
