Carrick Superintendent Kevin English has said that extra resources were deployed in traffic management last Friday for the Cannonball Run.
His comments come amid criticism at delays of up to 90 minutes to get into the Leitrim town when the super cars were on show at lunchtime on Friday.
The Superintendent said all emergency calls were dealt with successfully during the Run and that he plans to hold a debriefing meeting with the organisers.
It is understood the traffic delays will be one of the items for discussion at the meeting
