Midday Monday before water could be restored

Roscommon County Council and Irish Water personnel are continuing to work on repairing the burst water main on the Abbeytown Road near the first gate of Rockingham, as can be seen from the Boyletoday.com photograph taken at 3pm Sunday.

The burst main has caused major disruption over a wide area of Boyle.

Irish Water has advised that it could be 12 midday Monday before The Warren, Drum Road, Maple Drive, Erris, Erris Bay, Mocmoyne, Killaraght, Garrow, and Kiltycreaghton areas see water restored.

The disruption comes only days after areas in the Warren were without water after the Unfinished Housing Development (UHD) Unit of Roscommon County Council carried out essential work on a water main last Friday.

Irish Water “recommend that you allow 2-3 hours after the estimated restoration time for your supply to fully return”.
