New Year’s Day Tractor/Truck Run raised €9552

The Saddlers Inn Annual Tractor Drive took place on New Year’s Day.

A total of 104 tractors and trucks took to the road with us as we left The Saddlers Inn and headed for Carrick On Shannon and then onto Boyle.

€9552 has been raised for Lucy Croghan and Donnacha Horan and will be divided evenly between both families

To our drivers we cannot thank you all enough for coming out and taking part, without your participation and support we wouldn’t have a drive… Thank you for your co-operation along the route, your safe driving and patience.

Thank you to Martin Coleman for his photographs and continued support of this event and to Daniel Mensakov for his drone footage… Thank you to John Keville for leading our tractors, to our stewards (Michael Rock, Andy Finn, Kevin Mc Grath, John Healy, Gerry Mullaney, Denis Flanagan, Aidan Harrington, Darragh Cregg, Thomas Beirne, Tony Christie, Jim and Tom Glancy, Paul Finn) for helping with traffic management and finally thank you to our bucket collectors for braving the cold weather. Also we would like to thank Kieran and Margaret Farrell and the Freachpark fundraising team for their assistance on the day.

It was great to see so many spectators along the route, we hope you enjoyed the drive and thank you for your contributions. We wish both Lucy and Donnacha and their families the very best for the coming year.

We will do it all again next year but for now a sincere ‘Thank You’ for helping us make this happen.

In a post on social media, Daly’s Drinks in Boyle said “Well done to all involved in the Tractor run. We are delighted to be in a position to donate a further €800 to this figure (bringing the total raised so far to €9552), which is the money raised from our December Wine Fair, so thank you once again to all who supported that. Thinking of those two children & their families during these tough times.”
