Roscommon Show on Saturday

The 47th annual Roscommon Show will take place on Saturday August 18th on Hannon’s Grounds, Athlone Road, Roscommon with a prize fund of €40,000.

The schedule includes

  • All Ireland Final – Irish Draught Yearling Filly
  • All Ireland Lunging Competition
  • 1000-Best Weanling Male & Female calves (born 2018) -Sponsored by The All Creatures Veterinary Clinic
  • The Roscommon Show Champion Breeding Heifer  – Sponsored by Gleesons Townhouse & Restaurant
  • The Open Pony Mare & Foal Competition
  • Classes for: Horses, Ponies, Cattle, Sheep, Goats, Dogs, Poultry, Pets, Farm & Garden Produce, Arts & Crafts, Photography etc…
  • Driving Events – Dog Show – Sheep Racing – Best Dressed Lady- Best Groomed Gentleman -Glamorous Granny – Bonny Baby – Kids Fancy Dress.

Programme of Events

  • 8.00 a.m. Show Grounds open for all exhibits
  • 9.00 a.m. All exhibits must be in Show Grounds

Judging commences for classes as follows:

  • 10.00 a.m Horse Section
  • 10.15 a.m. Crops, Cookery, Arts & Crafts, (Marquee)
  • 11.00 a.m. Pony Classes (Note that Ridden Classes commence at 11.am)
  • 11.30 a.m. Cattle & Sheep Section
  • 1.00 p.m. Dog Show
  • 2.00 pm Ridden Classes (Ponies)
  • 2.30 p.m. Judging of Pets, Fowl, & Cat Section
  • 1.30 p.m. All-Ireland Final of the Irish Draught Yearling Filly
  • 3.00 p.m. All Ireland Lunging Competition
  • 3.30 p.m. Puissance Wall Competition , in conjunction with Roscommon Hunt
  • 3.00 p.m. Bonny Baby Competition, Children’s Fancy Dress, Glamorous Granny. Best Dressed Lady.
  • 4.00 p.m. Driving Events
