A magnificent crowd turnout Saturday afternoon to welcome Santa to Boyle to switch on the town’s Christmas Lights.
The big man in red first paid a visit to Drumanilra Farm Kitchen where he met the Freya Smith, Mark Halligan, Patrick Jacobs, Rosie McGreevy and Conor Caslin.
The five students were winners of a recent colouring competition organised by Boyle Chamber of Commerce and Boyle Christmas Lights Committee and they accompanied Santa on his sleigh before helping him turn on the Christmas lights.
Boyle Scouts had some free hot chocolate and sweets for everyone which was most welcome on a cool evening.
Santa’s sleigh was given a tour of the town courtesy of Keith Suffin’s tractor before arriving back on the Crescent where the children waited anxiously.
Santa had a word for everyone and was delighted to meet so many of the children from Boyle again this year.
He said he may pay another visit again to the town before Christmas Eve.
