Run Walk n Roll raised €3000

Over 300 people young and old came out in the October sunshine to take part in the 20th 5.5km run /walk for Cancer Research.

There was a great feel good atmosphere as everyone tried to beat their personal best and do better than last year.

The route was well marshalled by the Gardai and stewards to ensure all got around safely.

With music from DJ Richie and water and goodies at Abbeytown shop ,Kathleen and Cormac Callery’s, Tom and Deidre  Kearney’s and the chat, participants did not  find the time passing by.

If the going was tough, Mc Kennas Bus and Order of Malta were there to pick people up but thankfully there were no casualties.

The 1st man home was Kian Sweeney in a time of 20.57 and 1st Female was Samantha O’ Gara in 26.20.

All returned to St. Josephs Hall for refreshments served by the registration team and tea ladies.

All the food was very kindly sponsored by local businesses Mc Donagh Boyle Motor Works, Kellys Londis, Kellys Super Valu, Better Buys, Mc Gees Jewellers and Cooneys Centra.

A huge Thank You to all who supported and helped out in every way and to all the local media for your publicity, Lough Key Tri Club, Boyle Scouts, Boyle Celtic, St Josephs Hall and Roscommon Co.Co.

So far €3000 has been raised with more to come so Thank You to each and everyone for your support this year once again.
