Our Wynne’s Bar sponsored men’s first team picked up their third win on the bounce with a comfortable 2-0 win over Ballymoe on Saturday night. The win also ensures Celtic are unbeaten in their last four league games and moves them second in the Roscommon & District Football League Premier Division table (only behind the leaders on goal difference). On what was a bitterly cold night, Celtic took the lead on 36 minutes as David Callaghan rose highest to meet a Gerard McDermottroe free kick. Ballymoe were limited to few chances through with the home side’s teak-tough defence holding firm. An elusive second goal duly arrived midway through the second half as Mick Corrigan fired in a loose ball from close range.

The under 12 (2013) girls had a great win in the Champions Shield over Carrick Town on Saturday morning. The girls went behind early, but never gave up and got a well-deserved equaliser with five minutes left. They then went on to win 3-2 on penalties.
While our under 13 boys royal team took on Calry Bohs in their final on Saturday evening. Once again, the boys played their hearts out and made us proud with a 1-1 result after normal time. Following the subsequent penalty shootout, it was lads that came out on top, winning 4-3.
