Our Wynne’s Bar sponsored men’s first team made the long trip to take on Skyvalley Rovers on Sunday afternoon in the RDFL Premier Division.
There was little between the teams in the first half, with the home side winning a succession of corners. Boyle Celtic were forced into a change on 33 minutes with goalkeeper Conor Cooke forced off with an injury and replaced by Kyle Sweeney. Sweeney himself, picked up an injury of his own 10 minutes into the second half. He was replaced by the returning Eden Kerins with midfielder Dean Casey handed the goalkeeper shirt and gloves. Celtic took the lead after 83 minutes. Kerins’ whipped delivery was directed to the back of the net by the head of Luke Glennon. Skyvalley responded instantly and were awarded a penalty. Dean Casey brilliantly saved the spot-kick with his feet.
However, he was adjudged to have cross the line prior to the kick. Unfortunately, for Celtic the second effort was scored. The drama was far from over. Two minutes later, Celtic regained the lead.

Gerard McDermottroe fed Mick Corrigan, who finished brilliantly on 88 minutes to send the bench into raptures. The hosts responded instantly from the restart as they capitalised on a Celtic mix-up at the back and ensured the spoils would be shared. Sunday’s draw does put Celtic top of the league, one point ahead of second, albeit with an extra game played. Team: C. Cooke; D. Carlos, D. Callaghan, L. McGrath, G. McDermottroe: D. Duggan, L. Glennon, D. Casey; S. Carroll, M. Corrigan, A. Dwyer. Subs used: K. Sweeney for Cooke (33 mins), E. Kerins for Sweeney (55 mins) With: J. McCrann, C. Calpin, D. Hensey and G. O’Connor.

Congratulations to Eden Kerins on his return from injury and straight back in action last Sunday.

Best wishes to Conor Cooke and Kyle Sweeney in the recovery from their respective injuries.

Our GreenRock Convenience Store/ Roberto’s sponsored men’s reserves were defeated by Ballinagare in the RDFL Division Two.

Our under 12 girls were very unfortunate to lose 4-3 on Saturday against Real Tubber. The girls were magnificent and thoroughly deserved at least a draw.

Well done to our under 11 boys who played Yeats, Merville and Real Tubber in Cleveragh on Sunday. Excellent effort and team work from all the lads. We managed to dodge the rain which was a bonus!

Well done

Well done to our under 12 players Sorcha and Fiachra Mulrennan, who did us all proud on the Late Late Toy Show on Friday night.
