The Dance Hall era comes to Boyle

Boyle will be brought back to the Golden Age of Ireland’s iconic Dance Hall / Showband Era of the 1950’s and 60’s this Saturday night September 24th when this magical era will be lovingly recreated for one night only.

Music on the night will be performed by The Keith McDonald Showband. This five piece band will play all the hits of the Showband era with their own twist on some modern classics. So get ready to Jive, Waltz’s, Swing and even do a Siege of Ennis. Keith’s father Frankie toured internationally with the legendary Joe Dolan for four decades and so he grew up hugely influenced the music of the touring Irish dance bands.

For many of us we wish we could experience this unique part of our cultural heritage, where many of our parents met, fell in love and the rest is history as they say. The Twinkle of an eye across the dance-floor, maybe a rock around the clock and, before you knew it, you were actually doing the Huckle Buck. Now is your chance to be part of the magical days of the Showband era, the very mention of which sends those of a certain age into uncontrollable laugher and even produces the odd blush.

**DRESS CODE** While it is our hope that you will dress in keeping with the 1950’s/1960’s so as to allow the night to be as authentic as possible it is not manditory.

In order to be as true as possible to the times there will be a SOFT DRINKS BAR ONLY, therefore no alcohol will be served in house.

**TICKETS** are €15 and available through Úna Bhán Tourism located in the Grounds of King House.
